John Lloyd has been hired as Indianola’s new Water Resource Recovery Superintendent. Lloyd will leave Ottumwa with his role as Ottumwa Water Pollution Control Superintendent, which he has had since 2021. Indianola City Manager Jake Meshke says he will have a similar role as he did in his previous position.
“In his career and capacity, he’s responsible for a waste water treatment facility, 29 lift stations and oversees a staff of 15. John has bachelors and masters degrees from Iowa State University, and he’s previously also held city administrator positions in several communities across Iowa. I’m really excited for John. He’s going to bring some great experience in finance and budget, grant writing, strategic and utility planning, as well as personnel and project management. His role will be very similar to what he’s doing currently for the city of Ottumwa. He’ll be overseeing our waste water treatment plan. He’ll be working very closely with the staff, overseeing the collection system through town and kind of planning future projects and such related to our race water system.”
