The Pella Christian boys and girls track and field teams turned in strong performances Thursday night, with both teams combining to earn automatic bids to State in 14 events at the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
The Eagle girls won the district championship at the meet with 116 points and got eight events qualified to run at Drake Stadium including:
- 100m Dash – Rachel Kacmarynski (1st Place: 12.34) and Lexi Terpstra (2nd Place: 12.95)
- 200m Dash – Rachel Kacmarynski (1st Place: 25.10) and Meredith Van Wyk (2nd Place: 25.92)
- 400m Dash – Bailey Vos (1st Place: 59.29) and Maisy Meinders (2nd Place: 1:02.38)
- Long Jump – Olivia De Haan (1st Place: 16’ 7.5”)
- Sprint Medley Relay – Lexi Terpstra, Amaia Agre, Maisy Meinders, Meredith Van Wyk (1st Place: 1:50.03)
- 4x100m Relay – Lexi Terpstra, Amaia Agre, Olivia De Haan, Rachel Kacmarynski (1st Place: 48.70)
- 4x200m Relay – Lexi Terpstra, Olivia De Haan, Amaia Agre, Meredith Van Wyk (1st Place: 1:45.32)
- 4x400m Relay – Rachel Kacmaryski, Greta Vos, Maisy Meinders, Meredith Van Wyk (1st Place: 4:05.79)
The Pella Christian boys took 3rd at the meet with 105 points and got six events qualified to run at State including:
- 100m Dash – Adam Kacmarynski (1st Place: 11.13)
- 1600m Run – Will Vanden Bosch (2nd Place: 4:34.28)
- Long Jump – Brecken Riztert (1st Place: 21’ 6.5”)
- 4x100m Relay – Landon Nunnikhoven, Brecken Ritzert, Ezra Ochsner, Adam Kacmarynski (2nd Place: 43.41)
- 4x200m Relay – Adam Kacmarynski, Ezra Ochsner, Brecken Ritzert, Landon Nunnikhoven (2nd Place: 1:29.95)
- 4x800m Relay – Sawyer Meinders, Logan Gallaher, Hudson Meixner, and Griffin Stoltz (1st Place: 8:15.71)
