The Pella Christian volleyball team returns to action tonight after a week-long break, traveling to Ames for a Little Hawkeye Conference match.
The Eagles opened their season at home last Tuesday with a 3-0 loss to new conference member Des Moines Christian. Pella Christian will now square off with the other new league member in Ames, who enters tonight’s matchup with a 5-5 overall record. The Little Cyclones opened the year with a 3-2 victory over Class 4A #1 Norwalk last Tuesday, before going 0-3 at the Johnston Quad on Thursday and 4-2 at Bondurant-Farrar’s Skip Anderson Classic on Saturday. Tonight’s contest will be the tenth meeting between the Eagles and Ames since 2008, but the first since 2021. The Little Cyclones carry a three-match winning streak in the series, recording 2-0 wins in 2021, 2019, and 2017, while Pella Christian’s last victory was also a 2-0 sweep in 2016.
The Eagles volleyball match at Ames High School tonight is set to begin at 7:15 pm.
