The Board of Directors of the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation has unanimously approved the transfer of $1,288,000 to support the organization’s development of a new Radiation Center, a joint venture between Pella Regional Health Center and Knoxville Hospital & Clinics.

The transferred funds represent the Foundation’s contribution to the Bridging the Gap campaign and will be directed toward construction, equipment acquisition, and program development for the new facility. The funds originated through past donations made to the Foundation for a more general purpose as well as investment earnings realized over time.

The state-of-the-art radiation oncology center is expected to be completed in early 2027 and will significantly improve access to cancer care for residents of Marion County and surrounding communities, reducing the need for travel to distant treatment centers.

The South Central Iowa Radiation Center is projected to cost $14.3 million, with the majority of funding to be raised through the Bridging the Gap Campaign, led by the hospital foundations of Pella Regional Health Center and Knoxville Hospital & Clinics.
