Pella Regional Health Center and Knoxville Hospital & Clinics recognized the Vermeer Charitable Foundation on Thursday for their contribution of $1 Million to the Bridging the Gap Campaign.
Gifts to the Bridging the Gap Campaign will help fund the South Central Iowa Radiation Center and support the partnership between the two hospitals to bring radiation therapy closer to home for patients across the region. This gift represents more than financial support, reflecting belief and confidence in mission, collaboration, and compassion for the patients and families the hospitals serve. The state-of-the-art radiation oncology center is expected to be completed in early 2027 and will significantly improve access to cancer care for residents of Marion County and surrounding communities. Pella Regional Health Center Foundation Coordinator Jenny Hesseltine says that they are grateful for support from organizations such as the Vermeer Charitable Foundation.
“I think it not only represents Vermeer’s investment in our community and in their workforce and in the patients that we serve, but it truly represents a genuine partnership between organizations that are working alongside each other in the same community with a lot of the same values. We just are incredibly grateful for the fact that they would offer this kind of hope to our patients.”
The South Central Iowa Radiation Center is projected to cost $14.3 million, with the majority of funding to be raised through the Bridging the Gap Campaign, led by the hospital foundations of Pella Regional Health Center and Knoxville Hospital & Clinics.
