Coming in at #1 for Pleasantville top sports stories of the 2025-2026 school year is the baseball team winning their second consecutive Class 2A state championship.
It was another remarkable year for the Pleasantville baseball team as they once again ended the year at the pinnacle of high school sports by claiming their second state title in two years. The Trojans defeated Albia 15-0 in their substate final game to punch their ticket to the state tournament for the third straight year and then put together another impressive performance at Merchants Park in Carroll.
The Trojans flexed their muscles in their quarterfinals game against Ridge View winning 10-0 in run rule fashion. Pleasantville would then hold off an impressive Cascade team in their semifinals matchup winning 8-5. In the state championship, the Trojans did what they have done all year and were dominant from start to finish winning their Class 2A state title matchup against Durant 8-1 anchored by a complete game pitching performance from Brayden Kennedy who also pitched the quarterfinal matchup.
Pleasantville ended their year with a 35-1 overall record under second year head coach Luke Adreon.
