Led by three top-10 individuals, the Norwalk boys golfers placed third out of 16 teams in Tuesday’s Fort Dodge Invitational. The Warriors shot a team score of 295 at the Fort Dodge Country Club, finishing 10 strokes behind first-place Dallas Center-Grimes.
Senior Rohan Tiedt highlighted Norwalk’s scorecard with a round of 71, good for sixth place in the field. Jaxon Howe and Dayton Poen tied for ninth place with scores of 73, Tillman Papcun and Noah Fagan both shot a 78 and Kota Bentz added an 80. DC-G’s Chase Perrin was the meet medalist with a score of 67.
The Warriors will have a week off before their next competition on Tuesday, September 8, when they take part in the Ottumwa Invitational.
Girls Tennis postponed
The Norwalk girls tennis team was also scheduled to compete on Tuesday, but a home dual vs. Pella Christian was postponed due to the heat. No make-up date was announced. Today’s dual at Pella has also been postponed and rescheduled for Tuesday, September 15, at 12:00 p.m.
