Hollie Zajicek won the Iowa Senate District 11 Republican Primary in a three-way race.

Zajicek received 1,991 votes from voters in Marion and Warren counties for 39.04% of the total vote based on Tuesday’s unofficial results. Zajicek defeated John Thorup, who had 1,570 votes, and Mandee Shivers, who finished with 1,528. Zajicek will run against Sinnika Waugh in the General Election in November, who ran unopposed in her primary. Iowa Senate District 11 is currently represented by Julian Garrett, who will be retiring at the end of his current term. Zajicek is the Economic Development Director for the City of Norwalk.
