The VA Task Force had a conference call with VA officials in Des Moines and Washington DC at their monthly meeting Tuesday morning. During the call the group, which is comprised of city and county leaders, hospital and business representatives, political office staffers and local citizens was asked if they would like to work with three private groups who are interested in entering an extended use lease of the campus. Task Force Chair Harv Sprafka said the group will have to discuss the matter and was not willing to make a decision at this time. The current goal is to hold a meeting with representatives with all three groups in order to compare strategies to and goals for the campus prior to a public forum and visit from the VA official from Washington DC in August.
