Waters at Lake Red Rock are forecasted to continue to rise, but not crest until next weekend. Park Ranger Joshua Conrad with the Army Corps of Engineers says that the waters are open, but that boaters and swimmers should be aware of the risks of flood waters. He says everyone on boats should lookout of hidden debris and recommends always wearing a life jacket. The South Overlook boat ramp, the section of the Volksweg Trail adjacent to the marina, and the Whitebreast Beach have been closed due to high waters. All other recreation areas at Lake Red Rock are open at this time. The swimming advisory for North Overlook Beach has been cancelled as recent testing showed lower bacterial counts.
