pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville Trojan boys’ basketball season came to an end Thursday, as the Van Meter Bulldogs would get a 66-34 win in a Class 2A District 10 semifinal. Van Meter would lead from start to finish, turning a ten point 1st quarter lead into a 24 point halftime lead at 40-16. The Bulldogs lead by senior Ryan Schmidt and his 18 points would continue to dominate the Trojans in the second half extending their lead to 35 and forcing running clock before eventually winning by 32. The lost ends the first season for Pleasantville in the West Central Conference, as they finish 8-13 overall. The bright side for the Trojans is they will return four starters next season while only saying goodbye to four seniors in senior Grant Fouch, Colt Stewart, Quintin Berglund and Triston Mount. Van Meter will move on to face PCM Tuesday in Norwalk in the Class 2A District 10 final.
