The 11th ranked Simpson Storm softball team will travel to the 23rd ranked Central Dutch today for a midweek doubleheader scheduled for 2 p.m. and approximately 4 p.m.
The two teams are currently second and third in the American Rivers Conference standings. The Storm are 6-2 in league play, while the Dutch have only played two conference games and are 1-1. Simpson is led by the program’s all-time hits leader, Senior Ashlyn Steen who is hitting a conference best .517 and ranks 21st nationally. For the Dutch, they enter the game at 18-4 and are led by the Junior duo of Rylee Dunkin and Sarah Stufflebeam who are tied with a team-best .377 batting average. The Dutch lead the all-time series 84-55 and have won six of the last eight against Simpson.
