The Knoxville Historic Preservation Commission is hosting
a program on Thursday, by historian Larry Ball, Jr., on
"The History of the Des Moines Speedway, 1915-16, and its
Connection to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame."
That's according to committee co-chair Tom Schmeh. He
says the free and open-to-the-public presentation will be
held from 7 until 8 p.m. in the Knoxville Public Library.
