Norwalk’s bruising running game took its toll on Knoxville last night as the Warriors defeated the Panthers 28-14. If there was ever a game that momentum changed on the first play it was last night as the Warriors scored on a 79 yard wide receiver option and 19 seconds into the game Norwalk held a seven/nothing advantage. Knoxville would get on the board in the fourth quarter on a Tyler Worrall three yard touchdown run and then Dylan Schrader hauled in a 58 yard pass from Adam Theil midway through the fourth to get Knoxville within two scores. One other key in the game was Norwalk dominated the time of possession and Knoxville Defensive Coordinator Justin Mikels said with Norwalk playing ball control it took a toll on the defense. Norwalk did give Knoxville a short field due to the Panthers’ return game that consistently set them up inside Norwalk territory, however Knoxville was unable to cash in. Adam Theil was 9/24 for 179 yards a touchdown and two interceptions. Dylan Schrader caught three passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. Knoxville is now 2-2 on the season and 0-2 in district play…the Panthers will host Grinnell next week.
