Melcher-Dallas is going for its first eight-man district five win of the season this Friday against Seymour. One concern Coach Chris Peterson has with his team is the defense giving up so many points this season. While the offense is scoring 44 points per game, the defense is giving up over 56 a game. Peterson says the defense must improve to have a chance at a postseason spot. With this week’s opponent struggling Peterson says the preparation will be the same as if Seymour was unbeaten. Seymour is winless on the season and has not won a game in more two seasons. Peterson says that also concerns him in the fact that on paper Melcher-Dallas is a decided favorite.
