KNIA/KRLS News has just received word that a number of Pella and Pella area residents were in Haiti on a trip with Grace Fellowship Church when a series of earthquakes struck Tuesday. Widespread devastation is reported, with one earthquake registering 7.0 on the Richter scale. Dwaine Meyer, whose daughter is on the trip, reports that he has heard from her, and she reports that all on the trip from our area were accounted for and uninjured. The group arrived in Port-au-Prince on Monday. KNIA/KRLS News will provide more information as soon as it becomes official.
