The Pella and Knoxville boys track teams got some pre season action in at the Iowa State Indoor Classic in Ames yesterday.
Pella was led by Brett Bogaard who finished third in the 60 meter dash while Richie Bales finished 5th in the 400.
Knoxville sent 18 boys to I-S-U last night and faired very well. Tim Shepherd ran a personal best in the 3200 at 10:38…the four-by-800 team placed in the top 12 with a time of 8:42…Harlan Systma was in the top ten with a time of :51.3 in the 400. Assistant Coach Joe Cunningham says the four-by-400 team ran especially well with a time of 3:31. The team is made up of Austin Houser…Reed Long…Alex Edwards…and Harlan Systma.
Knoxville will head to the Simpson Classic on March 26th. Pella will compete indoors again Friday night at Central College, and then prepare for the outdoor season which begins April 2nd at Winterset.
