The Central College men’s track and field squad used seven individual victories to win the team title at their home invitational Saturday while the women won four events and placed second. Tyler Crouse won two events to lead the men’s squad, including the discus throw with a season-best toss of 150 feet, 11 inches after also taking top honors in the hammer throw with a mark of 154-8. Teammate Matt Graber was runner-up in both the hammer throw and the shot put Meanwhile, Kurtis Brondyke smashed his previous best in the javelin throw (174-11) and took top honors. Kyle Wood led the Dutch runners with three victories, the first coming in the 4×100-meter relay, he also won the 200 meters in a blazing 21.8 seconds.. Wood also was part of the winning 4×400 relay team. Other event winners include Alex Miller who led the 800 start to finish and freshman Jordan Marks who won the high jump at a height of 6-4 to equal his season’s best from last week.

On the women’s side freshman Felicia Coleman continued her strong rookie campaign by winning the 200-meter dash and anchoring Central’s winning 4×400 relay. She then helped win the 4×400-meter relay. Jill Ziskovsky also won the high jump and Amy Ledvina dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase and won by over 30 seconds. Central returns to action in Des Moines Saturday at the Drake Jim Duncan Invitational.
