The Knoxville Baseball squad took a well deserved day off yesterday after Wednesday night’s win over Pella Christian. The Panthers defeated the Eagles nine/two last night behind the strong pitching of Eric Jones. After having yesterday off, the Panthers set their sights on another conference contender Newton. The Cardinals got Knoxville the first time around, and Coach Steve Mott says Newton has been a tough match up for Knoxville since joining the Little Hawkeye Conference. Knoxville stands 18-5 on the season and 10-4 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. After tonight, the Panthers will have five more days off to get ready for a varsity double header with Norwalk on Wednesday.
