The Knoxville Football Squad heads to Carlisle tonight. The Panthers stand at one-and-three on the season and 0-2 in class 3A District eight. Coach Troy Rider and the rest of the coaching staff are trying to get the players to eliminate mental errors in the games. He says if the mental mistakes are eliminated and the players continue to buy into his system, success will come. He also says they have simplified the defense a little hoping to get rid of those mental errors. He adds if there is ever a week to play assignment football it’s this week as Carlisle runs an option attack and has rushed for over 900 yards. Rider says a win tonight would set the team up for the rest of the season to fight for a possible postseason bid. You can hear the play-by-play live on AM 1320 KNIA with Derek Cardwell and Rusty Pearson tomorrow night at seven, the game will also be streamed live on kniakrls.com.
