When you ask PCM girls Coach Ben Anderson who his starters are before each game you will get the same answer, “If they’re a senior they are starting”, on Friday night that veteran group of five led the Mustangs to a 63-39 Senior Night romp in Monroe over Colfax-Mingo in a game you heard on kniakrls.com. The Mustangs used another great defensive effort to put a stranglehold on the Tigerhawk offense, leading 15-6 after the first eight minutes and 34-17 at the break. The Mustangs ball movement on offense was superb enabling the guard court to shoulder the bulk of the scoring load knocking down open jumpers. Out of the locker room it was more PCM as the Mustangs would stretch their lead to as many as 26 in the second half. In the 4th quarter with the game in hand, Anderson was able to pull his five Seniors off the floor together to an ovation from a packed gym. Stephanie Hayden led the way for the Mustangs with 15 points, Katie Walker had 14 and Taylor Bianchi finished with 12. PCM is now 14-5 overall and 11-3 in the Heart of Iowa Conference with only a make-up game at North Polk remaining on the schedule.
