Pella Christian High School has recently announced the addition of a new Head Varsity volleyball coach, as Cindy Nikkel has accepted the position for the 2011 season. Nikkel most recently served as the assistant volleyball coach at Central College for the past two seasons, and previously was the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at California State University Stanislaus in Division II, where her teams set new school records for wins in every season from 1999 to 2002.

Prior to stepping up to the college ranks, Coach Nikkel guided the Ripon Christian High School program from 1987 to 1997; which included two state runner-up finishes and five Conference Coach of the Year awards.

Cindy Nikkel currently works at Works Systems in Pella providing personal training and athletic instruction. She replaces long-time Pella Christian volleyball coach John Evenhouse, who announced his retirement this past December after 19 seasons at the helm of the Lady Eagles program; where he compiled a 489-203-49 record.
