A Knoxville construction company is in the process of purchasing the old Pamida building in town and plans to divide up the space and lease it to various interested parties.
Jason Cushman of Cushman Construction tells KNIA/KRLS News they’ve signed a purchase agreement for the property and will be closing on the building soon. He says the company saw opportunity with the building and seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
This weekend, Cushman with the help of several community members moved the local Goodwill store into the building on a temporary basis. Cushman says Dick Reed and Mike Moats challenged each other to see who could bring more people in to help with the efforts Sunday evening and the Knoxville High School football, cross country and track teams came to help as well. He says there were nearly 70 volunteers and if it weren’t for the extra hands they’d still be moving items into the new location.
