The Knoxville City Council passed amendments to ordinances regarding several boards and commissions at their meeting this past week. The amendments will ensure that the boards and commissions meet on a regular basis. They also create specific resignation rules for board members who miss a certain number of consecutive meetings. The boards and commissions are made up of volunteers appointed by the City Council. City Manager Harold Stewart says the new amendments try to find a balance of not overburdening those volunteers while creating some accountability as well.
