Income taxes are due Tuesday, but don’t expect to see lines pouring out of post offices. Knoxville Postmaster Rosetta Roose says that though this used to be a day that they dreaded at the post office, the advent of electronic filing has lighted up their traffic quite a bit. She says that traffic is only just a little bit heavier than a normal day, and that they no longer have extended hours. Pella Postmaster Danielle Lloyd agrees, saying in the past few years electronic filing has reduced the number of customers. Roose says that things are busiest in the last part of the day, which is normal for any other day as well. The post offices in Knoxville and Pella will be open until 4:30 for people who need to get their taxes sent out.
