The City of Knoxville will take another look at the fire chief position after their candidate has withdrawn his candidacy. City Manager Harold Stewart tells KNIA/KRLS that the city had offered the position to Ben Truetken after Wednesday’s interview process. However, during the course of the negotiation process, Truetken withdrew his candidacy for what Stewart said were “personal reasons.” Stewart continues that based on interview results, they will not fill the position of Fire Chief at this time and adds that city staff is discussing and exploring options on how to proceed.
