The Knoxville City Council will hold a public hearing on the consideration of a franchise agreement with Alliant Energy that will include franchise fees during their regular meeting Monday. The agreement would increase utility bills by 4% in Knoxville, similar to the recently passed MidAmerican Energy franchise agreement. They’ll also discuss the Knoxville School District’s request for an exemption from those fees. The meeting starts at 6:15 at City Hall. It can be heard live on 1320 KNIA.
