Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says there are no plans to immediately fill the now-vacant Public Works Director position within the city. Stewart tells KNIA/KRLS that they’ll miss previous director Jeff May, but this is also an opportunity for change and growth within City Hall. He says that Assistant City Manager Dylan Feik will take on much of the supervisory role. Other department heads will also take on some other responsibilities as they re-evaluate the needs of the Public Works Director in the city going forward. He adds that they’ll also work with engineering firms to make sure they have technically expertise, but they are not in a hurry to fill the position at this point.
