The local racing community received some sad news following this past weekend’s AMA races at the Knoxville Raceway. Race officials Dave and Tyler Brintlinger were killed in a vehicle accident in Illinois on their way home to Ohio after the races. Dave had been an official for nearly two decades. Tyler, his 15-year-old son, had been a junior member of the official crew for nearly his entire life. Dave’s twin brother and fellow official Darrell was also involved in the accident. He’s recovering in a local hospital. AMA Director Dan Johnson says that Dave and Tyler were always ready to help and will be deeply missed.
