Central College students thanked soldiers on the anniversary of September 11th yesterday by writing thank you letters to soldiers at Central College. Samantha Hebel, and Americorps VISTA at Central, organized the event to give students a chance to participate in the national service day. The table where the letters were written was near the mailboxes, which meant a lot of foot traffic. The students had many reasons for writing letters. Some just wanted to show their thanks, some had personal stories to share. The letters will be sent to soldiers serving in combat zones who don’t often get letters.
