The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to help residents rid medicine cabinets of unwanted prescriptions. Sheriff Ron Goemaat says that around 20 pounds of prescriptions were dropped off earlier this month, bringing the total for the year up to 50 pounds. Goemaat says that a drop-off day is held twice each year as a Drug Enforcement Administration program, but residents are welcome to drop-off unused or unwanted prescriptions at the Sheriff’s Office any time.
