Former Pella Pastor, Patrick Edouard, faced sentencing yesterday after being found guilty of several counts during his trial in August. Edouard was found guilty on 4 counts of sexual exploitation by a counselor, but not guilty of 3 counts of sexual abuse. He was also convicted of having a pattern, practice, or scheme to sexually exploit. Judge Paul R. Huscher handed down Edouard’s sentence in the Marion County Courthouse yesterday morning. Eduard was sentenced to a maximum of 5 years in prison, and will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years following his release. During the sentencing, the victims expressed their feelings of isolation and betrayal following the events, and Edouard apologized to those that trusted him. He is in the process of being released on bond, and is seeking an appeal.
