PCM head football coach, Greg Bonnett, looked at the first game of the season (in week zero) as the table-setter for the rest of the “first” nine games on their schedule. The PCM Mustangs had a 14 – 0 lead at one point in their season opener against Roland-Story, before relinquishing that lead and having to battle back late in the ballgame. The Mustangs had a 27 – 20 advantage, when the Norsemen would strike to pull within one. The biggest play of the game, maybe of the season, came on the points after, as Roland-Story, instead of kicking an extra point to tie and send the game to overtime, tried to convert the two point conversion to win. That’s when Dillon Bruxvoort came up with a swat to deny the Norsemen two points and the win. The Mustangs were able to go into victory formation after that and win 27 – 26. It was the first of many wild and wacky twists and turns the 2012 season would entail for the Mustangs, as they finished their season with a 4 – 7 record.
