The Marion County Extension Office is hosting a workshop next week to help farm families prepare estate plans. Extension farm and business management specialists Melissa O’Rouke and Kelvin Leibold will run the program, which aims to help those who are confused about building a plan for transferring farm assets and are unsure about what options are best for their family. It’ll cover taxes, retirement planning, and other items that are important to creating an estate plan. The workshop costs $50 – to register, call the Extension Office at 842-2014. Registration closes Friday; the workshop is next Tuesday from 9:30am-4pm
