New Sharon came under a boil alert Monday and the Pella and Oskaloosa Hy-Vees offered to help out. Hy-Vee is donating 4,800 gallons of water to the citizens of New Sharon to help them in the crisis. Wal-Mart in Pella also donated water. Scott Johnson, Store Director of Pella Hy-Vee, tells KNIA/KRLS News that it is important to Hy-Vee to support their community when they’re in need. The truck of water will be delivered from the Chariton warehouse early Tuesday morning, and volunteers are welcome to help distribute the water starting at 8am.Mahaska County Emergency Management Coordinator Jamey Robison tells KNIA/KRLS News that residents of New Sharon that are not able to physically make it to the park can make arrangements to have it delivered.
