The Knoxville School Board discussed options regarding the District’s athletic budget during last night’s meeting. For the fiscal year ending last month, the overall athletics budget for middle and high school combined ran about a $16,000 deficit. The Board agreed to find ways to bring expenses more in line with revenues. Revenues last year were near $90,200, while expenses were almost $106,100

The Board gave direction regarding the new high school auditorium rental policies. Non-school groups would pay around $450 for a three-hour rental; non-profits would pay around $350. Those prices include wages for a technician and custodial staff. The Board will likely take action on approval of a policy next month.
