Six year old Stella Turnbull of Pella was recently named a Kid Captain for the 2013 Iowa Football team. Turnbull, who was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I, a genetic muscular disease, will captain the Hawks when they travel to Ames on September 14th. All Kid Captains and their families will be invited to Kids Day at Kinnick Stadium in August for a special behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities, and each child’s story will be highlighted during the football season.
