Senator Tom Harkin wasted very little time Thursday once he had the ear of Secretary Pritzker. The two met up at Vermeer Corporation where Mary Vermeer Andringa hosted the Secretary’s listening tour stop. Many area business leaders shared their industry needs, while Senator Harkin immediately started lobbying for Iowa farming and manufacturing. Andringa, Harkin, and Pritzker all spoke of the importance of international trade. Vermeer Corporation does approximately 30% of their business outside of the U.S.
