The newly appointed Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, was in Pella Thursday. Pritzker was sworn in less than six weeks ago, and is currently on a nationwide listening tour. She says the purpose of the listening tour is to hear from business leaders around the nation on how the Department of Commerce can assist their industries. When asked by KNIA/KRLS News how the Obama administration and the Department of Commerce can help increase job growth locally, Pritzker said that they “want to work with our businesses to help remove obstructions.” However, she added that ultimately our businesses and innovators are the ones that will actually grow the local job market.
