Two events are taking place today at Lake Red Rock. First at 9 am, meet at the North Overlook Picnic Area and take a look at some of the different species of trees growing along the forest trails while picking up tips on how to identify them. At 1 pm, safari through tall prairie grass to stalk monarchs and other butterfly species. Butterfly nets are available for free checkout at the visitor center. Interested participants should meet at the South Tailwater Recreation Area by the picnic shelter.
