Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini says consistency, and less confusion was the motivation for the Pella City Council Tuesday night when they made two changes to building codes. The first change was to take half levels out of all language, and simply have one, two, and three story buildings. The other change was to adjust the required side yard setbacks for two and three level homes from 12 feet, to 10 feet. Nardini says that there has been concern by builders who’ve found it difficult to fit multilevel homes on cul-de-sacs in Pella.
