If you noticed a flying object over Knoxville this week, there’s no need to worry. Jacob Steenhoek is a Central student and has a company called Explaura, where he builds drone technology. Steenhoek performed a demonstration for various public safety personnel at the Marion County public safety office. He says the various uses for drone technology could include assisting firefighters, examining crop conditions including assessing hail damage and even finding children if they become lost in a cornfield. Other uses include tower inspections and uses for real estate purposes.
