Flu season continues and children are particularly vulnerable to catching the disease.
Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Registered Nurse Practitioner Laci Dykstra says there are other signs aside from a fever that parents should look for when determining if their child may have the flu. She says parents should keep an eye on their child’s eating habits, along with the normal flu symptoms, such as cough, runny nose, and a sore throat.
Dykstra says if you suspect your child does have the flu, you should contact your primary care physician. She also recommends properly washing your hands, staying away from sick family members, and getting your flu shot to help prevent from contracting the illness.
