Pleasantville’s basketball teams are seeing great success lately. The girls triumphed over Lenox last night, 50 – 44. Despite early foul trouble, the Trojans hung with it, and got a late tie-breaking bucket and hit clutch free throws to nab the win. Kennedy Core had 17 points and Kelsee Van Haalen scored 16. Pleasantville’s boys survived a last-second three attempt to emerge victorious, 57 – 54. With a half-second left on the clock, the Trojans hit a bucket and got a foul, but the bench was handed a technical foul for coming onto the court. Trever Zoss scored 15 points to lead the Trojan boys, who have a record now of 11 – 6, and the girls improve to 5 – 13 and have won four of their last five. Pleasantville will next host I-35 on Tuesday.
