During the evening of February 12, the Knoxville Police Department was made aware of a threat being made against the Knoxville Middle School.
Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS News that officers immediately investigated the threat, and at that time the investigating officer felt there was no immediate threat to the school. On Friday morning Knoxville School Resource Officer Kyle Keller notified school officials and continued the investigation. As a result of that investigation two Knoxville Middle School eighth grade boys, ages 13 and 14, were taken into custody on the charge of Conspiracy to Commit Terrorism, a class D Felony. Both juveniles were transported to a secure juvenile holding facility.
