Soybean production was the third largest on record last year, with more 506 million bushels produced by Iowa’s farmers.
According to the Department of Agriculture, Marion County’s yield was 47.5 bushels per acre, which was slightly below the state average of 51.5 bushels per acre. Moderate temperatures with adequate rain during the growing season allowed an above average crop to develop across most of Iowa.
