Governor Terry Branstad will sign a proclamation next week for Flag Day in Iowa.

A Knoxville woman, Dixie Gebhardt, designed the flag that was adopted as the official flag of Iowa in 1916. The proclamation will be signed at the State Capitol on Thursday, March 12th, starting at 2pm.
The Iowa Flag Day Celebration in Knoxville will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 10am until 1pm at the Dixie Gebhardt House and the Knoxville Public Library.
