Phase one of the Pella Sports Park project is nearing completion.
Community Services Manager Jeanette Vaughan says construction is now in full swing to finish the interiors of the park buildings and the multi-purpose fields. She says the park entrance road, main parking lot, and the infield playing surfaces at the baseball and softball diamonds are already complete and the outfields have been seeded. Vaughan adds that field fencing and lighting are almost entirely complete as well, as are the exterior building structures. An opening date for the complex has yet to be determined.
