It’s School Board Appreciation Week and Knoxville School Superintendent Cassi Murra says being a member of the school board takes a lot of hard work and dedication.

Murra says they’re valuable for how they oversee the district and make decisions regarding policies that are best for students, their education, and their safety.
School board members are elected to their positions and Murra says three seats will be up for election this September. Anyone interested in running for school board can pickup eligibility paperwork at the district office.
