Softball gets going for Pella High this summer this evening. Just three seniors left the program a year ago for a team that went 11 – 21 and fell to state tournament participant, Oskaloosa, in the semifinals of regionals. A strong group of juniors who saw a ton of action as sophomores is back, including two of the team’s top three hitters: Sara Tallman and Alexa Dingeman, who each hit over .333. In the center circle, Elyse Sadler is back for another go, having went 11 – 14 in 26 starts in 2014, with a 2.55 ERA and 95 strikeouts. Tonight, Pella plays Des Moines North, who went 7 – 31 a year ago, also with three seniors on the roster.
